Clear the backlog K,L,M (part2)

Didn't quite finish Knights of Pen and paper. I'm on the last dungeon- at least it says it's the last dungeon. Who knows with this crazy game. Was finding the fights pretty tough o went back to town for some equipment and decided to leave it for another day.

Chapter 5 of Law and Order was a little disappointing. Didn't find the case very interesting. It had a couple of twists but a bit cliched. The voice acting of an old woman playing a young boy was also really poor and distracting. Hopefully the final 2 will be better.

No offers for my legend in PES so I'll be slogging it out in the championship again. 9 games in we're not too far from the top 6 so maybe it is achievable. I've tried to play more of an attacking game and I got my first hat-trick. Watt is a good striker I just wish we had an equally good partner for him and better attacking midfielder. The defense and goalkeeper are pretty solid. Maybe if I can get the team up the rankings a bit some good signing will be made in January- I assume the quality of signings is based on that, not really sure. The national team won a game while I was suspended. Gave me a bit of motivation to play the next one properly. Started really well- one goal up and an opposition player sent off. But they equalised in the 80th minute so qualification for the world cup aint going to happen. Up next is a cup game against Man City- going to be very tough.

Metro 2033 redux

This is such a well known game that it doesn't seem necessary to review in detail so I'll just give some quick views. The upgraded graphics are of course very good although I was much more impressed with the backgrounds than the character models. The sound and atmosphere was beautiful. It was enjoyable to have such different areas- the dark abandoned tunnels, stations teaming with activity and the eerie post- apocolyptic Moscow aboveground. There are a fairly large number of weapons to choose and customise- from revolvers, shotguns, rifles, flamethrowers etc. You can also use grenades and throwing knives. I enjoyed fighting the human enemies where using stealth and headshots was common. Shooting charging hordes of mutants with shotguns was less fun. I also preferred the parts where you were fighting with allies which made a change from all the time you spent alone. Weekend gaming

I've been  a bit sick so haven't been playing as much as I'd like. I did however manage my first 10 win spellweaver trials. They were all very different decks but all very good. The first was nature/rage. Nature has lots of small fast creatures for early damage. I then had a lot of burn to do the final points (plus burning rage for card draw).  The second was nature/dominion. This focussed on keeping my opponents side of the board clear. 3 landslides and 2 stormfairies return to hand or to top of deck opponent's creatures. Then if he floods the board I can use cataclysm for card advantage. Advanced Despina is also awesome in control decks (she can search for opponents creatures in their deck and put them onto the battlefield on your side. The final deck was wisdom/corruption. This relied on shocking opponents creatures so they couldn't attack and you can either get favourable trades or just keep attacking your opponents life total. Daris and Du

Alien Isolation Review

In space no one may be able to hear you scream but on the Sevastapol station humans, androids and the Xenomorph can hear you slightest movement in this tense stealth action game. In Alien Isolation, you play Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley. The ship your mother was on has been found and you set out to discover what happened to her. When you arrive all hell has broken loose on the station as systems are ailing throughout the station and different groups have banded together to try to survive and escape. It has a very similar atmosphere to Deadspace but with for the most part, a lot less combat. The levels are large and beautiful. They have kept the aesthetic of the movies in terms of color schemes as well as the shape and materials of objects such as airlocks, levers and doors. Some are reused in a similar way to the Batman Arkham series and you can access more rooms and areas as you get new equipment or upgrade the equipment you have. Like Ellen, you do not have combat
